About Me
In Sixth grade my teacher gave us all a set of pencils with an adjective that began with the first letter of our name. Mine was Perceptive Peter. That didn’t sound very fun to me, but I knew it was true. I’ve always been an observer, noticing things before others do, or catching what others can’t see.
Coming out to myself at a young age added to this, as my insular queerness made me keenly aware of seeing the world through a different lens. Thus began a lifelong pursuit for meaning and understanding. I have found solace in my own therapy, books, art & writing classes, voice lessons, yoga, and other pursuits.
My openness and desire for connecting with others is what I find most enriching in my work. Getting to be with people when they need someone the most. Helping a person get unstuck. Shifting someone from living their life in fear to imagining more for themselves.
As someone with lived experience and over a decade in the field, I am well-equipped to support various needs and issues. I received my Master’s in Clinical Social Work at Temple University, during which I interned at Episcopal Community Services, the University of Pennsylvania’s student counseling center, and conducted research on community mental health. I also completed post-graduate training at the Psychoanalytic Center of Philadelphia. My undergraduate studies were in Journalism and Sociology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
