PSYCHOTHERAPY
-
Individual Therapy
I provide insight-oriented psychotherapy in a relatable way that gets to the deeper root of what’s going on. I work with ages 18 and up. Together we’ll get to know your history and background; we’ll make sense of the past and how it affects the present; and we’ll undo maladaptive patterns to develop better coping mechanisms.
AREAS OF EXPERTISE:
Anxiety
Depression
Identity Development
Loss & Grief
Trauma
-
Couples Therapy
I work with partners in various types of relationships to understand underlying issues within their relationship(s). Together we’ll discuss the history and nature of the relationship; we’ll experience what it’s like to communicate intimately and openly; and we’ll allow dynamics of the relationship to play out to evaluate and understand where they come from and the impact they have.
AREAS OF EXPERTISE:Communication & Trust
Conflict Resolution
Infidelity & Repair
Polyamory & Non-monogamy
-
LISTEN
There’s so much power in feeling heard. In a non-judgmental way, I listen to what my clients say, how they say it and why.
-
REFLECT
People come to therapy to make sense of their experiences. I pay attention to patterns and themes, interpreting them with my clients.
-
HEAL
It takes time and hard work, but healing is possible. I begin that process by helping clients manage and accept life’s difficulties.
Getting Started in Therapy
Therapy, whether it’s shorter term counseling or deeper, insight-oriented work is a commitment to yourself and figuring out what’s not working for you or your relationship. Getting started in individual or couple’s therapy doesn’t need to be some major leap into the unknown. I’ll be there with you and we’ll find your way out of the dark. It might feel like A LOT sometimes, and things may even get worse before they get better, but we’re in this together.
The way I practice pays careful attention to the therapeutic relationship. How we affect and relate to each other will inform the work, giving insight into how you may engage in relationships outside of therapy. We’ll reflect on what it’s like to be in therapy, sharing this space together, and navigating a unidirectional relationship. Don’t worry, I’m not a completely blank slate!
